In 1993
In 1993, the Lapu-Lapu Public Technical Vocational College was established which was temporarily housed in Marigondon National High School while the college building was being constructed to the adjacent lot of the school.
It was then, the Lapu-Lapu City Sanguniang Panglungsod, moved and unanimously approved Sangguniang Resolution No. 1139-2002, to operate a public college.
Lapu-Lapu City Public Technical Vocational Tertiary School. The technical and vocational courses were offered for free to the residents of the city of Lapu-Lapu at Science and Technology Education Center (STEC) situated in Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.
In 2002
In 2002, the Lapu-Lapu City Sangguniang Panlungsod, moved and unanimously approved Sanggunian Resolution No. 1139-2002, to operate a public college. It was called the Lapu-Lapu City Public Technical Vocational Tertiary School. Technical and vocational courses were offered for free to the residents of Lapu-Lapu City. The college operated at Science and Technology Education Center (STEC) situated in Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.
March 24, 2010
On March 24, 2010, the Sangguniang Panlungsod passed Ordinance No. 354-2010 entitled, “An Ordinance Converting the Existing Lapu-Lapu Technical Vocational School into Lapu-Lapu City College, an Institution of Higher Learning that caters to the poor but deserving constituents of Lapu-Lapu City”.
Lapu-Lapu City College (LLCC), a local government college, was established on April 01, 2010 by virtue of City Ordinance No. 354-2010 dated March 24, 2010. It started its operation on June 09, 2010 for the school year 2010-2011. The college was governed by the Board of Trustees headed by the City Mayor at the time, Hon. Arturo O. Radaza, Chairman of the Board. Dr. Tomas Ramos was appointed as the first College President in June 2010. The school had a population of over 1,300 students.
During that time, the college operation was under the consortium and in collaboration with two renowned educational institutions – the Cebu Normal University and Cebu Technological University. The college aimed to provide quality education and prepare students to practice their expertise in the world of work.
The college co-existed with the Science and Technology Education Center (STEC) and occupied the rooms previously utilized by the defunct Lapu-Lapu City Vocational-Technical School at STEC Compound in Basak, Lapu-Lapu City. In August 2013, Dr. Faustina S. Atillo, with her passion and dedication to operate the college, succeeded Dr. Tomas Ramos, as the College President. By then, the student population rose to 1,600 and new classrooms were built in Carajay, Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City.

On March 24, 2012, Sangguniang Panlungsod Ordinance No. 354-2010 entitled “An Ordinance Converting the Existing Lapu-Lapu Vocational Technical School into a Lapu-Lapu City College, an Institution of Higher Learning that caters for the poor but deserving constituents of Lapu-Lapu City”.

June 2013
In June 2013, with the approval from the city council and the Board of Trustees, Carajay building was utilized for the College of Education due to the urgent need of the classrooms. It was then lately, Carajay campus was inaugurated last July 15, 2014.
The College of Education is housed in the main buiding at Carajay Campus consisting of 15 rooms which is already occupied primarily by the education students.
Recently the College of Technology and Department of Hospitality Management is temporarily located at STEC Campus, Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.
Lapu-Lapu City College (LLCC) had produced the first batch of around 500 graduates on March 2014, in the College of Education, College of Technology, and Department of Hospitality Management.
August 2013
In August 2013, Dr. Faustina S. Atillo with her passion and dedication to operate the college with the increasing population of over 1,600 students succeeded the position as the College President.
August 2014
In August 2014, Lapu –Lapu City College had 70.6% first successful LET passers.
It was followed by the recognition of the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology major in Computer Technology and Electronics Technology on September 5, 2014.
April 2015
April 2015, with the BOT Chairman Hon. Paz Corro-Radaza, appointed the former Regional Director of Department of Education, Region 7- Dr. Carmelita T. Dulangon as the new Lapu-Lapu City College President.
The college is currently the home of over 1,500 students with an active teaching force under the able leadership of the College President, Dr. Carmelita T. Dulangon.
