Pi-Thons’ Guild

Brief Description

Pi-Thons’ Guild (PTG) is an organization for all students taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics. It was established and officially recognized as an organization in Lapu-Lapu City last November 27, 2021.

Pi-Thons’ Guild serves as a primary arm of its members in the implementation of educational and motivational projects and activities for the benefits of its members.

Vision

The vision of the Pi-Thons’ Guild is to build an organization that promotes academic excellence through the imparting of quality mathematics education.

Mission

Pi-Thons’ Guild aims to help students develop a positive identity as mathematicians. Learn and see themselves as mathematically inclined, to support them as they internalize practical application of mathematics to be problem solvers and critical thinkers.

Goals / Objectives

Pursuant to the Revised Constitutional and Bylaws of the Pi-Thons’ Guild, Article III: DECLARATION OF PRINCIPLE AND OBJECTIVES, the following are the objectives of the Pi-Thons’ Guild:

  1. The Pi-Thons’ Guild is a democratic and republican organization in which the members may exercise authority.
  2. The Pi-Thons’ Guild respects its members’ dignity and ensures that their rights are fully respected and protected.
  3. The Pi-Thons’ Guild shall encourage all of its members to grow holistically.
  4. The Pi-Thons’ Guild shall serve as the primary arm of mathematics major students in Lapu-Lapu City College in the implementation of educational and motivational projects and activities for the benefits of the students.
  5. The Pi-Thons’ Guild is a grassroots democratic organization that encourages all members to participate in all of its activities.
  6. The Pi-Thons’ Guild officers shall instill in themselves the sense of dedication and perform any other duties as prescribed by the head organizations.

Core Values

  • Problem-Solver

    We believe that any problem has a solution. We strive to answer those problems no matter how difficult it is. In math, we don’t believe that anything can be solved easily. We must follow through a long process in order to find out the solution that we want.

  • Persistent

    Being persistent is one of the values that one must possess in dealing with problems. We must be persistent enough to answer the given problems no matter how difficult it is. By being persistent, we can find answers to any problem as long as we’re determined to solve it.

  • Innovative

    One problem doesn’t only have one solution. There are many solutions that you can come up with that result in the same answer. Thus, we must be innovative in thinking of possible ways to solve the problem which is much easier to us.
