Bachelor of Secondary Education
Program Description
The Bachelor of Secondary Education is a fourth-year program which provides academic and clinical preparation for prospective teaches of secondary education through appropriate courses in general education, professional education, and field study/practice teaching. The degree is awarded to students who have successfully completed the four-year course of study in the field of English, Filipino and MAPEH. Moreover, it seeks to train students to become effective and efficient English, Filipino and MAPEH teachers for high school level of education. Furthermore, students are also required to complete their field studies and practicum or student teaching under the supervision of an education professional. Competition of this degree qualifies the graduate to take the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).
Objectives
The BSED program aims to develop high school teachers who can teach in one of the different learning areas in high school like English, Filipino and MAPEH:
Specifically, it aims to develop teachers who:
- Have the basic higher level literacy, communication, numeracy, critical thinking, and learning skills needed for higher learning;
- Have a deep and principled understanding of the learning processes in their students;
- Have a deep and principled understanding of how the educational processes are related to larger historical, social, cultural, and political processes;
- Have a meaningful and comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter they will teach;
- Can apply a wide range of teaching process skills including curriculum development, lesson planning, material development, educational assessment, and teaching processes;
- Have a direct experience in the field/classroom (e.g. classroom observation, teaching assistance, practice teaching).
- Can demonstrate and practice the professional and ethical requirements of the teaching profession;
- Can facilitate learning of diverse types of learners in diverse types of learning environments using a wide range of teaching knowledge and skills;
- Can reflect on the relationships among the process skills, the learning processing in the students, the nature of the content/subject – matter, and the broader social forces encumbering the school and the educational processes in order to constantly improve their teaching knowledge, skills and practices;
- Can be creative and innovative in thinking of alternative teaching approaches, and evaluate the effectiveness of such approaches in improving student learning; and
- Are willing and capable to continue in order to better fulfill their mission as teachers.

Bachelor of Secondary Education
Program Description
The Bachelor of Elementary Education is an academic degree which prepares the graduate as a teacher in the pre-school, primary and intermediate levels of education (K-6) with pedagogical and content knowledge and skills they need to teach young child. Aside from taking the general education curriculum students will have to complete their field studies and practicum or student teaching to meet the requirements for graduation. For those who major in early childhood education, focus includes better understanding of the psychology of children, appropriate teaching strategies, and preparation of suitable instructional materials. Completion of this four-year course degree qualifies the graduate to take the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).

Location of Schools in Relation to Factors
The school is within a reasonable distance from distractive establishments not conducive to learning such as cockpits, dancing halls, bars or recreational places of questionable character, bowling alleys, movie houses, markets, garbage dumps, funeral parlors, jails, cemeteries and others.

The BEED program aims to develop elementary school teachers who are either (a) generalists who can teach across the different learning areas in grade school or (b) preschool teacher.
